Kyobashi and Temmabashi:
Just a stroll away from Osaka Castle

Along with Umeda and Namba, the area near Kyobashi and Temmabashi is a popular place. Around 15 minutes by train from Umeda or Namba, the Kyobashi/Temmabashi area is characteristically easy to get to and is filled with many shopping malls and restaurants. With Osaka Castle nearby, there are lots of things to do from morning to night. And as locals tend to use the area more than tourists, it’s a great place to get the local Osaka experience. If you’ve never visited, check it out. You will probably find a new sort of Osaka that you didn’t know existed.

This shopping mall is linked directly to Kyobashi Station on the Keihan Electric Railway. On the shopping levels from the 1st to 7th floor, you’ll find MUJI, DAISO and many other shops, along with a steak restaurant, cafés and more. The B1 level is the Mall Food Hall where you can purchase fresh foods. Thanks to the close location to the JR and subway Kyobashi Stations, this shopping mall is frequented on a daily basis by many people.

With an emphasis on simple design, MUJI sells stationery goods, apparel and foods. It is a popular brand among Japanese and non-Japanese alike. MUJI also has a location in Keihan City Mall at Temmabashi.
DAISO
Purveyor of an astounding selection of foods, stationery and much, much more, DAISO is a 100-yen shop where most of the items are 100 yen.

Located right outside the Katamachi Exit Ticket Gate at Keihan’s Kyobashi Station, KiKi Kyobashi is a commercial complex filled with stores, gourmet restaurants and a playhouse. From the 1st to 4th floors, you will find ramen, okonomiyaki and other restaurants, as well as BOOK OFF, DAISO and other shops. The 5th floor at the top of the building is Kyobashi Gekijo, a playhouse offering live performances.

Kburatto is an avenue under the elevated Keihan railway to the west of Keihan Mall. Located right outside the Katamachi Exit Ticket Gate of Keihan’s Kyobashi Station, Kburatto is an avenue lined with cafés and restaurants for 400 meters. Many of the restaurants focus on the evening, so you can try a wide variety during the dinner hours. There are still plenty of lunch options, too, so stop by when you have a chance.

Osaka Castle

A popular Osaka sightseeing location, Osaka Castle is within walking distance from two Keihan stations. From Temmabashi Station, it’s about 20 minutes, and from Kyobashi Station, it takes about 30 minutes to walk there, making for a pleasant route to look around and enjoy the town. When the cherry blossoms bloom in spring, Osaka Castle Park is especially popular for the view of the castle and blossoms together.
